Longtime coach and tennis analyst Phil Naessens’ WTA Clay Court Power Rankings 2026 are here, and they tell a very different story than the official standings.
Clay rewards a different kind of player. Movement matters more. Point construction matters more. And some of the biggest names on tour don’t always translate when the surface slows everything down.
That’s why this list is built using surface-specific Elo ratings, and Phil’s extensive coaching notes going back to many of these players’ junior tennis days.
This is Phil Naessens’ WTA Clay Court Power Rankings 2026, a full Top 100 designed for the clay season, not the calendar.

Final Thoughts
The WTA Clay Court Power Rankings 2026 are built to reflect how players actually perform on clay — not just where they sit in the official standings.
As the clay season continues, these rankings will evolve. Form changes quickly, and every match adds new data to the picture.
But right now, this is the clearest snapshot of who is best positioned to succeed on clay.
