🎾 Stuttgart WTA 500 Entry List Storylines

🏆 Can Ostapenko Defend the Title?

Defending champion Jelena Ostapenko returns after last year’s run, but her clay form has been uneven. The 2017 French Open champion is just 9–4 on clay over the past 52 weeks, and her high-risk style leaves little margin for error in a stacked field.

👑 Swiatek Searching for Clay Form

Iga Swiatek has won this event twice but enters Stuttgart with something to prove. She has not won a clay title since her 2024 French Open victory and is 11–4 on clay over the past 52 weeks.

Her movement and consistency still make her one of the toughest players to beat on this surface, but in faster indoor conditions against elite power players she will need a higher level to contend for the title again.

🇺🇸 Gauff Looking to Regain Form

Coco Gauff has produced strong results on clay over the past 52 weeks, but she enters Stuttgart still searching for her best level.

She has won just one title since capturing the 2025 French Open, and her serve and forehand have been inconsistent, leading to errors in key moments. In a field this deep, she will need cleaner execution to make a serious run.

🔥 Player to Watch: Aryna Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka enters Stuttgart as the player to watch. The faster indoor clay conditions suit her first-strike game, allowing her to control points with her serve and power from the baseline.

She was the 2025 finalist here and has consistently produced strong results on clay over the past 52 weeks. In a field this deep, her ability to take time away from opponents gives her a clear edge.
