CO’Met Orléans Open Entry List Storylines
Mpetshi Perricard and Bonzi bring proven indoor credentials
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard enters ranked No. 145, far from his career-high No. 29. He’s dropped nine of his previous 11 matches, and is really riding the struggle bus right now.
Benjamin Bonzi also knows how to win indoors, having captured the 2024 Metz title. He’s also dropped four of his previous six matches, and the weight-class drop might help.
Báez Looking to Stop the Bleeding
Sebastián Báez arrives in Orléans as the field’s top-ranked player, but he’s lost seven of his last eight matches and desperately needs a turnaround.
The Argentine has enjoyed most of his success on clay, and indoor hard courts aren’t exactly his comfort zone. Dropping down to the Challenger level might help, but his recent form raises serious questions.
Prižmić Could Be a Problem in Orléans
Dino Prižmić has already beaten two players in the Orléans field. The 21-year-old Croatian defeated Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 6-3 in Davis Cup competition and knocked off Daniil Glinka on his way to the Saint-Tropez Challenger semifinals in September.
He’s also coming off a straight-sets opening win in Brest. Ranked No. 95, Prižmić has shown he can handle this level of competition, and the higher-ranked players should take notice.
