Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes 2026 Entry List: Tiafoe Headlines ATP 250 Field

Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 2026 Entry List offers a solid ATP 250 event with Frances Tiafoe headlining a deep field for the 2026 Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

The ATP 250 will be played on indoor hard courts and features a 28-player singles draw. Lyon shares the week with ATP 250 events in Brussels and Almaty before the tour moves to Basel and Vienna.

Lyon previously hosted an ATP clay-court tournament from 2017 through 2024, but the new event represents a significant change. The 2026 tournament moves indoors to the LDLC Arena and arrives during one of the most important stretches of the European indoor season.

World No. 8 Tiafoe leads an entry list featuring four Top-20 players and considerable depth throughout the field.

Tiafoe Leads Strong American Group

Tiafoe enters as the highest-ranked player in the field, but he will have plenty of familiar company in Lyon.

Brandon Nakashima and Tommy Paul give the United States three players inside the Top 20, making the American contingent one of the strongest groups in the tournament.

Nakashima’s controlled baseline game and ability to protect serve make him particularly interesting indoors, while Paul brings considerably more variety and the ability to transition quickly from defense to attack.

With Tiafoe’s aggressive first-strike style added to the mix, all three Americans have games capable of translating well to the Lyon conditions.

French Players Have Plenty of Opportunities

The home contingent is headed by Arthur Rinderknech and Ugo Humbert, two players who should be very comfortable in an indoor environment.

Humbert has built much of his success around an attacking left-handed serve and early ball striking, while Rinderknech can become extremely difficult to break when his first serve is firing.

Luca Van Assche and Arthur Gea provide two more French names directly into the field, while Corentin Moutet, Terence Atmane, Titouan Droguet, and Benjamin Bonzi are among the alternates.

French teenager Felix Balshaw is also currently listed in the main draw.

With wild cards still available, the French presence could become even larger before the tournament begins.

Berrettini, Hurkacz and Shapovalov Add Dangerous Depth

The rankings don’t tell the entire story with this field.

Matteo Berrettini is currently No. 43, Hubert Hurkacz sits at No. 46, and Denis Shapovalov is No. 50, but all three possess the kind of serve-plus-one tennis that can become especially dangerous indoors.

Berrettini can dictate points with his serve and forehand, while Hurkacz remains one of the biggest servers in the game. Shapovalov brings another explosive left-handed serve along with the ability to take the ball early and shorten points.

That makes the middle of this Lyon entry list particularly dangerous.

Lorenzo Musetti, Matteo Arnaldi, Cameron Norrie, Sebastian Baez, Arthur Fery, and Martin Landaluce add even more depth to a tournament where the draw could matter considerably.

The alternate list is strong enough to make the field even deeper if withdrawals occur.

Jan-Lennard Struff is first in line, followed by Jaume Munar and Daniel Altmaier. Hamad Medjedovic is another dangerous indoor player sitting further down the list, while Lorenzo Sonego and Mattia Bellucci give Italy additional possibilities should spots open.
