Jack Draper Ends 2026 Season, Targets 2027 Return

Jack Draper has officially ended his 2026 season, with the British left-hander announcing that he will take the rest of the year to recover from a complicated injury and target a return at the beginning of 2027.

Draper said the repeated attempts to return to competition had taken a toll physically and mentally, leaving him dealing with pain and significant fatigue, as he shared today on his Instagram.

From World No. 4 to an Injury-Interrupted Season

The 24-year-old remains one of the most talented players of his generation, but injuries have once again interrupted his momentum.

Draper reached a career-high ranking of World No. 4 in June 2025 and owns a 251-119 career record. He is currently ranked No. 155 after a difficult and disrupted 2026 season.

His biggest title came at the 2025 Indian Wells Masters, where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals before cruising past Holger Rune 6-2, 6-2 in the final.

Draper also reached the Madrid Masters final in 2025 and advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 US Open.

Flashes of Form in 2026

There were still flashes of his best tennis this season. Draper reached the Indian Wells quarterfinals in March after defeating Novak Djokovic in three sets, but his season became increasingly stop-start from there.

He later retired from his Barcelona match against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, reached the Eastbourne semifinals, and suffered early losses in Canada and Cincinnati.

Draper’s focus now turns completely toward recovery.

At just 24, there is still plenty of time for him to return to the level that carried him into the Top 5.

The hope is that a full offseason reset will finally let him start 2027 healthy and ready to rebuild his place among the ATP Tour’s elite.
