Marco Cecchinato headlines the field. The Italian is by far the most accomplished name on paper, and his résumé stands out even in a group that includes several other players with ATP main-draw finals and Top 100 rankings on their record.

No player in the Szczecin field has been higher than Marco Cecchinato, whose career-high ranking of No. 16 came in 2019 after he became the lowest-ranked Roland Garros men’s semifinalist in nearly two decades the year before.
That 2018 run included a win over defending champion Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals, a result that remains one of the more improbable in recent Grand Slam history.
Cecchinato has also won three ATP Tour titles, and while he now sits at No. 166, his clay-court instincts make him a threat on the surface on which Szczecin is played.
Choinski, Díaz Acosta and Trungelliti Top the Field by Ranking
By current ranking, Jan Choinski leads the way at No. 75, with Argentina’s Facundo Díaz Acosta at No. 82 and countryman Marco Trungelliti at No. 83 close behind.
Díaz Acosta brings ATP Tour title experience to the draw. He won the 2024 Argentina Open in Buenos Aires without dropping a set in the final, beating Nicolás Jarry to become the sixth Argentine to lift that trophy, and reached a career-high ranking of No. 47 that year.
Trungelliti’s rise has been more gradual, but no less notable. He reached a career-high No. 76 earlier this year after a run to the final in Marrakech, becoming the second-oldest man in the Open Era to debut in the Top 100.
A Deep Argentine Contingent
Argentina sends four players into the field: Díaz Acosta, Trungelliti, Francisco Comesaña and Federico Coria, giving the entry list one of its clearest national storylines.
Comesaña has climbed as high as No. 54, a mark he reached last year, and has already posted third-round results at three of the four majors. Coria, for his part, touched a career-high No. 49 in 2023 and has six Challenger titles to his name.
Italy is close behind with three entries: Cecchinato, Andrea Pellegrino, and Stefano Travaglia, while the Czech Republic sends both Zdeněk Kolář and Jan Kumstat.
Ofner and Lajović Add Further ATP-Level Experience
Austria’s Sebastian Ofner reached a career-high No. 37 in early 2024 and made an ATP Tour final in Mallorca that year, one of the few Austrian men to reach a grass-court final in the Open Era. He also owns a stacked run of Challenger titles, including two in the space of a few weeks earlier this year.
Dušan Lajović, meanwhile, is a former Top 25 player and Monte-Carlo Masters finalist. His career-high ranking of No. 23 in 2019 remains the best of anyone in the Szczecin field not named Cecchinato.
The Bottom Line
This is not a marquee field on paper, but it is a deep one. Cecchinato brings a Grand Slam semifinal to his résumé; Choinski, Díaz Acosta, and Trungelliti sit closest to the Top 50; and a four-man Argentine contingent gives the draw a clear regional throughline.
Add in Ofner’s recent Challenger form and Lajović’s Masters 1000 final pedigree, and Szczecin has assembled a field with more name recognition than its ranking numbers alone would suggest.
