2026 WNBA Power Rankings: Minnesota Lynx Continue to Rule as Playoff Race Heats Up

After nearly two months away, there has been plenty of movement throughout the league.

Here are the latest Crush & Rush News WNBA Power Rankings.

1. Minnesota Lynx (25-6) —

The Minnesota Lynx remain the gold standard in the WNBA. They’ve won 10 straight games while posting the league’s best Net Rating over that stretch. Napheesa Collier is back, and they will be tough to beat in October.

2. Indiana Fever (19-11) ↑3

Nobody is playing with more offensive firepower than the Indiana Fever. The Fever own the league’s highest Offensive Rating over their last 10 games, and Caitlin Clark continues to elevate everyone around her. If the defense becomes more consistent, this team has a legitimate chance to challenge Minnesota.

3. Golden State Valkyries (20-9) ↑3

Forget the expansion narrative. The Golden State Valkyries are simply one of the best teams in basketball. Their defense has been outstanding, they’re winning consistently, and they’ve earned every bit of this ranking after an 8-2 stretch.

4. Las Vegas Aces (20-9) ↓3

The defending champions remain dangerous. A’ja Wilson continues to dominate, and the Las Vegas Aces still possess one of the league’s highest ceilings. They haven’t been quite as consistent recently, but no contender wants to see the Aces in a playoff series.

5. Atlanta Dream (18-10) —

The Atlanta Dream continues to defend, rebound, and win. The Dream aren’t always flashy, but they’re one of the league’s toughest outs and remain firmly in the championship conversation.

6. Dallas Wings (19-11) ↑1

The Dallas Wings continue their steady climb behind Paige Bueckers and one of the league’s most balanced offenses. The Wings have quietly become one of the most complete teams in the WNBA and continue to improve as the season progresses.

7. Washington Mystics (16-12) ↑4

Few teams have improved more than the Washington Mystics. The Mystics have won five straight games, including Wednesday night’s come-from-behind victory over Dallas. Shakira Austin and the Mystics continue to outperform expectations thanks to disciplined defense and a young core that’s gaining confidence every week.

8. New York Liberty (17-13) ↓5

The New York Liberty continue to win games, but their recent play hasn’t matched their overall record. A negative Net Rating over the past 10 games raises concerns about whether they’re peaking at the right time. They miss Leonie Fiebich and Satou Sabally, but once they return, look out for the Lady Liberty.

9. Chicago Sky (12-19) —

The Chicago Sky and Kamilla Cardoso have been more competitive lately and are beginning to play decent basketball. The Sky still have work to do, but they’re no longer an easy night on the schedule thanks to Skylar Diggins’ benching and the brilliant play of rookie Sydney Taylor.

10. Los Angeles Sparks (11-18) ↑2

The Los Angeles Sparks remain dangerous offensively but can’t stop a broken clock defensively. They’ve shown enough over the past few weeks to stay ahead of the teams below them, but trading Kelsey Plum away at the deadline means the Sparks aren’t expecting to compete for anything.

11. Phoenix Mercury (12-20) ↓2

Phoenix has veteran talent but continues to struggle putting together complete performances. Adding Plum by the deadline will surely help their offense, but they won’t score enough consistently to overcome their bad defense. Until the Mercury string together quality wins, they’ll remain outside the playoff picture.

12. Portland Fire (11-19) ↓2

The Portland Fire competes hard every night, but close losses continue piling up. Portland has laid a solid foundation for the future, and I do like Carla Leite quite a bit, but its going to be a while for the ladies in the PDX to compete for the postseason.

13. Connecticut Sun (10-21) —

The Connecticut Sun remains in rebuilding mode, but the young core continues to gain valuable experience. Trading away Anesah Morrow was a choice, but maybe they’ll come up big again just in time for the team to move to Houston in 2027.

14. Toronto Tempo (8-23) ↓4

The Toronto Tempo have endured a brutal stretch, dropping nine of their last 10 games while struggling on both ends of the floor. Marina Mabrey is a dawg, but the consistency on both ends of the floor has disappeared.

15. Seattle Storm (7-24) —

The Seattle Storm continues to battle, but the results simply haven’t followed. The Storm are playing for the future now, hoping their young players like Dominique Malonga and Flau’jae Johnson can gain valuable experience heading into 2027.
