2026 Colina WTA 125 Entry List

Magda Linette Leads the Field, but Her Clay Numbers Raise Questions

Linette enters Colina with a 22-24 record over the past 52 weeks, including just 3-3 on clay. Her 0.80 clay-court dominance ratio and 36.6% return-points-won percentage aren’t particularly encouraging.

The 34-year-old defeated Iga Świątek in Miami and Jelena Ostapenko at Roland Garros, so the ability is still there. But Francesca Jones beat her at the US Open, and several dangerous clay-court specialists are waiting in Chile.

Linette has the ranking. That doesn’t mean she’s the player to beat.

Francesca Jones and the Clay-Court Specialists

Jones has four WTA 125 clay-court titles, making her one of the more dangerous players in this field.

Grabher, Zidanšek, Podoroska, and Riera also bring plenty of clay-court experience.

These are players who know how to construct points, extend rallies, and make opponents work. Rankings matter, but on this surface, the better clay-court player often has the advantage.

Chile’s Antonia Vergara Rivera Gets Her Opportunity

Nineteen-year-old Antonia Vergara Rivera has received a main-draw wild card, giving the local crowd somebody to get behind.

The Santiago native has already reached a career-high ranking of No. 340 and recently signed with the University of Tennessee, where she’ll join the women’s tennis program in January 2027.

Competing against established professionals at home gives her another chance to show how far her game has developed.
