2026 Shanghai Masters Draw: Alcaraz, Zverev Lead Masters 1000 Field
The 2026 Rolex Shanghai Masters draw is out, and the 128-player field has no shortage of star power.
Alexander Zverev sits at the top of the draw as the No. 1 seed, while Carlos Alcaraz anchors the bottom half as the No. 2 seed.
Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alex de Minaur are also scattered throughout a draw that should produce some fascinating matchups well before the final weekend.

Zverev Leads the Top Half
Zverev receives an opening-round bye and will face either Chinese wild card Yibing Wu or a qualifier/lucky loser in his first match.
Alexander Blockx, Alexander Bublik, Brandon Nakashima and Flavio Cobolli are among the other seeded players in Zverev’s quarter, with Matteo Berrettini also landing in that section of the draw.
Ben Shelton headlines the next section and could have an interesting early test. Holger Rune, using a protected ranking, opens against Daniel Altmaier, while Ugo Humbert and Francisco Cerundolo are also positioned in Shelton’s portion of the bracket.
Djokovic Faces an Interesting Road
Djokovic enters Shanghai as the No. 10 seed and receives a first-round bye.
His first opponent will be either Hubert Hurkacz or James Duckworth, which is hardly a soft opening assignment if Hurkacz comes through. Lorenzo Musetti is the other seeded player in Djokovic’s immediate section.
Frances Tiafoe is positioned at the bottom of the top half, with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Jenson Brooksby and Kamil Majchrzak among the names in his section.
Alcaraz Anchors the Bottom Half
Alcaraz occupies the final line of the draw and receives a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed.
Ignacio Buse is the other seed in Alcaraz’s immediate section, with Zizou Bergs, Vit Kopriva and Juan Manuel Cerundolo also nearby.
Further up the bottom half, Taylor Fritz is seeded No. 11 and could eventually encounter Stefanos Tsitsipas, who opens against a qualifier or lucky loser. Luciano Darderi and Tomas Martin Etcheverry are also in that section.
Daniil Medvedev headlines another dangerous portion of the bracket. The No. 5 seed receives a bye before facing either Martin Landaluce or Jan-Lennard Struff, while Cameron Norrie and Etcheverry sit further down the section.
Plenty of Depth Throughout the Draw
Felix Auger-Aliassime, Arthur Fils, Learner Tien, Casper Ruud and Jiri Lehecka are among the other seeded players in the bottom half.
Fils opens his campaign after a bye against either Tallon Griekspoor or a qualifier/lucky loser, while Tien could eventually cross paths with Ruud in another intriguing portion of the bracket.
Auger-Aliassime receives a first-round bye and sits at the bottom of a section containing Alejandro Tabilo, Pablo Carreno Busta and Mariano Navone.
Shapovalov Withdraws
Denis Shapovalov is listed among the latest tournament withdrawals due to a right hip injury.
The Shanghai Masters begins October 7 and runs through October 18, with $9,415,725 in prize money on offer. The champion will earn $1,151,380 and 1,000 ranking points.
