Antofagasta Challenger Entry List Features Heide, Barrios Vera and Dellien

The South American clay-court swing rolls into northern Chile as the Dove Men+Care Challenger Antofagasta returns from October 5-11 with a field built almost entirely around the region’s top clay-court talent.

Brazil’s Gustavo Heide leads the Antofagasta Challenger entry list at No. 123, followed closely by Argentina’s Francisco Comesaña and Bolivia’s Hugo Dellien.

Chile will have its own contender near the top of the field in Tomás Barrios Vera, ranked No. 139, while Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild adds another dangerous player with extensive clay experience.

Gustavo Heide Leads Antofagasta Field

Heide enters as the highest-ranked player in the main draw and should be comfortable in Chile’s conditions.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has spent much of his career developing on clay and arrives in Antofagasta as one of the players to watch in a field where long rallies, movement, and patience should matter.

Comesaña sits just four ranking places behind Heide at No. 127, while Dellien remains one of the most experienced clay-court players on the Challenger circuit.

Dellien’s younger brother, Murkel Dellien, is also entered in qualifying.

Tomás Barrios Vera Carries Chilean Hopes

Barrios Vera headlines the Chilean presence in the main draw.

The 28-year-old has built much of his success on clay and should receive plenty of support playing at home. Fellow Chilean Matías Soto, ranked No. 237, is also directly into the field.

Antofagasta has produced a South American champion in each of its first three editions, including Chile’s Cristian Garín in 2025 after previous titles for Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Juan Manuel Cerúndolo.

Seyboth Wild, Varillas Add Experience

Seyboth Wild is another name capable of making a deep run.

The Brazilian has played significant tennis above the Challenger level and remains dangerous whenever he gets an opportunity to dictate with his forehand on clay.

Former Top 60 player Juan Pablo Varillas is another experienced name in the draw. The Peruvian enters ranked No. 190 and has spent much of his career grinding through difficult clay-court matches across South America and Europe.

Other players to watch include Bolivia’s Juan Carlos Prado Angelo, Argentina’s Lautaro Midon, and Brazil’s João Lucas Reis Da Silva.
