Iva Jovic Returns as the Defending Champion
Iva Jovic arrived in Guadalajara last season ranked outside the Top 70 and left with her first WTA Tour singles championship.
The American was only 17 when she defeated Emiliana Arango in straight sets to win the WTA 500 title.
The victory completed a remarkable climb from outside the Top 200 at the beginning of 2025 and carried Jovic into the Top 50 for the first time.
She returns one year later ranked No. 16 and established as one of the leading young players on the WTA Tour.
Marta Kostyuk Leads the Guadalajara Field
Marta Kostyuk is currently the highest-ranked player on the entry list.
The World No. 11 will be joined near the top of the field by Jovic and Anna Kalinskaya, giving Guadalajara three Top 25 players before wild cards and qualifying places are awarded.
Sara Bejlek and Janice Tjen add two more rising talents to a field that also includes experienced hard-court threats Liudmila Samsonova, Magdalena Frech and Peyton Stearns.
Renata Zarazua Leads the Mexican Contingent
Renata Zarazua is the only Mexican player currently included on the direct-entry list.
The World No. 73 should receive one of the tournament’s strongest home-court receptions as she returns to compete in Guadalajara.
Additional Mexican players could enter the 28-player singles draw through wild cards or qualifying.
