Emiliana Arango gives the tournament a major local storyline.
The Colombian is currently No. 97 and has reached a career-high No. 46. She is also coming off a strong Cincinnati run that included a 6-2, 6-2 win over Venus Williams.
Arango also has previous Barranquilla experience, reaching the second round in 2023.
