2026 Athens Open Entry List: Maria Sakkari Headlines Historic Inaugural Event
The inaugural 2026 Athens Open entry list is out, and the first WTA 250 field is worthy of the occasion.
Maria Sakkari headlines the entry list for the new WTA 250 tournament, which replaces the Jiangxi Open on the WTA calendar and brings top-level women’s tennis back to Athens for the first time in more than 35 years.
Former Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, Clara Tauson, Dayana Yastremska, and Magda Linette are among the notable names expected to compete when the event is held July 13–19 on hard courts.

2026 Athens Open Entry List
Along with Maria Sakkari and Barbora Krejcikova, players such as Camila Osorio, Alycia Parks, Ajla Tomljanovic, Eva Lys, Diane Parry, and Lulu Sun will look to jump-start their seasons as the summer hard-court swing begins.
Several of the WTA Tour’s brightest young talents are also expected to compete, including Maya Joint, Sara Bejlek, Tereza Valentova, Ella Seidel, and Alina Korneeva, giving fans an early look at some of the game’s next generation.
