Tennis Injuries: David Goffin Withdraws From Australian Open With Knee Injury

The tennis injuries continue for David Goffin, who has withdrawn from the Australian Open with a knee injury, the Belgian Tennis Federation confirmed on Tuesday, ending his bid to compete in Melbourne this year.

Goffin has not played since his second-round qualifying loss to Francisco Comesana, where he retired trailing 6–1.

Tennis injuries slowed Goffin’s 2025 to a crawl. This same knee issue also forced the Belgian veteran to miss Davis Cup competition, effectively sidelining him for the remainder of the season.

The Belgian produced one of the season’s biggest betting upsets by defeating Carlos Alcaraz
in Miami, but injuries and inconsistent form ultimately derailed his year, resulting in a 16–26 record in 2025.
